Question:
Does anyone take New Whey Liquid Protein 42
I was looking this up on-line and was amazed that you only have to drink 3 oz. and it is 42 grams of protein. Does anyone take this? The protein I'm taking makes me vomit. So I'm thinking this will work. I think I might try Grape. — Katie S. (posted on March 12, 2007)

I've tried it.. i tried the fruit punch - its weird.. it is only like 3
sips. funny to think its 42g of protein.. i don't drink it everyday -
just ever once in awhile. i haven't tried the grape. i usually get most
of my protein from Muscle milk, zone bars and power crunch bars... then i
use the liquid protein once a week or so. good luck with trying it.

Wow I have never heard of it. I just want to know if it is any stores so
that I could really look at it and just try 1. The only thing is I can't
see how much sugar and sodium and all the other stuff that might be in it.
Let me know, I am very interested and want to know how it tastes because I
can't take the protein shakes very well either.

Katie,
I didn't like the fruit punch, but the grape and the orange are really
good. My nutritionist said we only absorb about 30 gr of protein at a
time. Since I thought it was just a little strong anyway I dilute with
water and make 2 drinks out of one. Costs less that way too!

I drink a protein drink called Lean Body -- it has 40 grams of protein and
come in vanilla and chocolate. The Isopure No Carbs come with 40 grams of
protein in it; however, I mix that with half a bottle of water. You can
purchase both of these at Vitamin Shoppe. There is also a canned protein
drink from Worldwide -- one flavor I tried was Strawberry Cream and it has
35 grams of protein it was pretty good. I had completed my workout at
Golds and they sell them so instead of going back home I grabbed a can and
completed my errands. The Lean Body protein drink comes in 17 ounces so
that's about 2 meals in one day. My clinics instructions are that I can
drink 8 ounces over an hour's time and that is pretty much what I do.
Sometimes I lose track of when I've had something to drink.

GNC has a liquid protein that I am trying. It isn't too bad. Only 3
tablespoons is all you need for 18grams of protein. It is $30 for 32 oz.

Hiya....the orange (too me) was yucky, but I like the fruit punch. I
haven't tried the grape yet, but next time I order... I am going to try.
Good luck.

I bought these for post-op when I knew it would be hard to get in all my
protein. I don't like the way they taste, but they are quick and dirty. I
swig a half of one and before I breathe (that's where the aftertaste comes
in) I chase it with a good sip of diet cran-apple. And I've downed 21g of
protein in 5 seconds! I've tried the fruit punch (my mom likes it) and
we've ordered the grape, to be delivered tomorrow. Zero sugar and 2g
carbs. Can't beat it.
Go to
http://www.vitaminshoppe.com/store/en/browse/sku_detail.jsp?id=YQ-1007
to get it online. (or go into a vitamin shoppe if there's one in your
area). If you go through froogle.com first you can get free shipping on
$50 orders. And there are usually 10% or 20% off coupons out there.

hi there , the vitamin shoppe sells them individually as wel as the case .
just remember thou we only absorb 30 grams of protein a hour . so dont
drink the whole 42 i drink most of it that i think 30 grams would be and in
a hour i drink the rest and open a new one or make a protein shake .
hope this helps.

I concure with Rebecca, our/most of our bodies will only absorb 30/32 grams
pf protein every 1-2 hours and just dump the rest out with the rest of the
trash our bodies have produced. But if you find a Protein drink that you
like or your body accepts. Go for it, as there's many out there.

New Whey is great! It now comes in two different protein amounts--25 grams
and 42 grams of protein. The taste leaves a lot to be desired, but its
just 3 ounces thats done and over with in two swigs--you can't beat it. I
have to drink them really cold. The 25 gram supplement has 100 calories
and the 42 gram has like 190 calories. So make sure you figure the
calories into your diet as well. My coworkers tease me about what they
look like, but I can take it as long as it helps me meet my daily protein
goal. Make sure you do a price comparison before buying them. I was
ordering them from Bodybuilding.com when they just had the 25 grams, but
when they came out with the 42 grams, I found vitaminshoppe.com to be
cheaper.

Hi Katie, I have bought some of the 42 g New Way prior to my surgery
scheduled for April 9. If you have a GNC store close to you they are great
at letting you taste all the flavors of things and if you are a WLS patient
they give you their discount card that usually cosys $15 a year. With that
card you get 20% off of anything you buy the first week of every month, and
10% off any other day during the week. Thay also send you coupons to your
e-mail address. I was told the whey is easier to drink at room temperture
it gets thicker when it is cold, I was told I haven't actually used it yet
since I haven't had my surgery yet. Someone else asked about sodium etc.
There is 0 fat, 0 cholesterol, 64mg Sodium, 31mg Potassium, 2 g Carbs, 0
Sugar, 42 g Protien, and it is only 176 calories not 190 as someone
previously stated. Hope this helps someone. I hope I can drink they after
surgery???

I tried it and did not like it at all. Come to find out your body can not
absorb more than 30 grams of protein at one time. What is similar to the
whey drink is a drink that comes in the tube called profect. It is about
2.5 oz and has 25 grams of protien. You can go to this website
http://www.protica.com/ they have many different flavors I like the orange
pineapple, citrus berry, and passion fruit.

I have been taking this protein for about 5 months now and it has been a
life saver for me....I was having problems getting my protein in at first
and then my niece told me about these. They are wonderful and three sips
and it is down, it makes it very easy especially if you are busy and
sometimes dont have the time to make a shake or something. I love the
grape to me it tastes a little stronger than grape kool aid, and I like
them better when they are very cold. They are a little pricy, but have
found the best price by browsing the internet. I do not like the orange
flavored ones at all...and the fruit punch is not bad, but the grape is my
favorite...they are great and you really should try them, it makes it worth
it when you can take 6 sips of something and have 84g of protein a
day...good luck

Since we are on protein I contacted the people at New Whey Liquid Protein
and asked them about how long it was Ok to keep it once it was opened.
There response was: Thank you for your interest in IDS Sports products. New
Whey once opened should be refrigerated. If the item is refrigerated it
should keep for 2-3 days.
