Question:
Are Lean Pockets alright to eat?
I bought a box of Lean Pockets to try, and the ham and cheddar are really tasty. They have 290 calories, (I know it is alot)fat grams are 7 grams sat fat are 205 cholesterol is 30 mg, Sodium is 490, Total carbs are 43,Dietary Fiber is 3g, Sugars are 5 gram(first five ingredients are fine) Protein is 13 grams. Michelle and Barb and all you other long timers, is this okay? I have no idea how many carbs I should be consuming, and how many calories I am supposed to be getting in. Please help. — TONYA B. The kicker is the 43 grams of carbs. That makes this choice a no-no (if
you want to lose weight, that is)

You could always pick off the top half of the bready part to decrease the
carb content? How many ounces are those things anyway? They just seem big
to me, I probably wouldn't be able to eat the whole thing anyway.

Thanks guys for answering my question. The box says it is 9 oz so
therefore about 4.5 oz a piece. I never even thought about the carbs. I
don't eat like I should. My doc has me on a small meal every 2 hours. This
is hard. I do like 2 small meals a day and 2 snacks usually bananas. Any
more advice would be appreciated. I could not have eaten this much either
at 2 months postop. But I have found that I can each a little more now. Is
this normal. HELP. I am afraid that I have stretched my pouch. Or I am
not normal. lol

I eat one of these for lunch once in awhile and I'm loosing just fine. I
think they make a great,quick,warm meal. -Kim

I had my surgery at BTC. I was told to watch my sugar and fat content . .
. not carbohydrate content. I am a little over three months out and I have
eaten quite a few lean pockets since surgery and I am doing well. I can't
eat a whole lean pocket . . . so I eat the filling first and then pick at
the pocket. I have found them to be really convenient for lunch and quite
tasty.

I'd think that Lean Pockets would have wayyyyy to many carbs for
anyone still trying to lose weight. 43 grams of carbs....that would
half your daily allotment. I lost 150 in 14 months and I was allowed
only allowed 75 grams of carbs a day. Remember, after wls, you aren't
concerned with calories or fat anymore....it's all about the carbs and
protein. Protein...yes Carbs...limited

I eat lean pockets once in a while and I have lost 81 pounds in just under
six months. I usually don't finish the whole thing, I take the top layer of
crust off. But I don't have any problems with them.
