Does anyone recommend any certain brand of vitamins that may be of a good quality

The adult Gummy vitamins at CostCo are good quality and great for
post-surgery since they're gummy chewables. Best success.

I use Bariatric Advantage Multi Vitamins - and I get them directly from the
manufacturer. They will ship you a 3 months supply on a regular basis, and
charge them automatically to your credit card. If you allow them to do
that, they don't charge you shipping charges. They are specifically
formulated for either the RNY-type, malabsorptive surgery; or they have
another formula for the lap-banders. I also have them ship me their
pro-biotic chewable. I'm not sure if it's doing any good (I thought it
might help with the constipation - but it's not), but I'm sure that it's
giving me SOME nutrients that are good for me. For the other vitamins -
like sublingual B-12, Calcium Citrate Chewables (I use TwinLab), Folate,
Folic Acid, Biotin, vitamin D and Vitamin K, I just get them at the local
GNC or Vitamin Shoppe. They're REALLY inexpensive there (at the Vitamin
Shoppe), and you can find the strength you need. I mean, you CAN get most
of this stuff at places like WalMart or Target, but most of them do not
have the high dosages that we need in order to absorb the amount we must
have....so you have to end up taking two or three pills to the others' ONE.
I hope this helps. Oh, there are other Bariatric specific vitamins out
there.... one is called "Celebrate" and is available online at
BariatricEating.com. The other is called Bariatric Fusion, and is
available online at BariatricFusion.com. But I know with the Fusion, you
need to take 4 chewable tablets spaced out during the day, and I have
enough trouble trying to remember to take them morning and evening.

I use Vemma, its a liquid I get everything I need in a 2oz shot. Its the
best ever, the cost is about $60.00 a month but its well worth it and you
only have to take it once daily. Let me know if you want to try it I would
be more than happy to send you a sample.. You can look at it online
www.jones.vemma.com or email me and I would be happy to send you more
information. Have a great day.

I have used Opti-Source chewable vitamins since my surgery a year and a
half ago. I get them either through Walgreen's mail order, or some stores
stock them in their vitamin aisle. They are made specifically for post
bariatric surgery. It is approximately $26 a bottle which lasts for a
month. You take 4 tablets throughout the day. All the vitamins, etc. that
you need are in them. Dr. cut me back to 3 a day, because my B vitamins
were running a little on the high side. It is so much simpler just taking
one vitamin that covers all of your needs and I have never had bad labs!
Hope this helps.

I've been told to take vitamins made for bariactric patients only, that the
vitamins on the store shelves for people that haven't the insides
rearranged are not suitable.
I get my vitamins from Bariactric Advantage. If you order on automated
ordering, there are no shipping costs.

Everyone who has surgery with Dr. Roye in Providence, RI is told to take
two chewable Flintstone vitamins. They provide everything needed.

ONce you get used to swallowing comfortably, I just use Centrum A-Z. It
has 100% of everything you need. Just remember though, you need to take
two vitamins. Not at the same time, you won't absorb it, it will be a
waste. So take one in the morning and one in the evening. Along with your
other vitamins. I have always gotten back good labs with the Kirkland
(Costco) Centrum A-Z. Price is right for lot of tablets. You don't need
to spend a lot of money on special vits for wls. My doctor told me that
this one is the best because it is something we can take and it has 100% of
the daily allowance. Women that are in childbearing years, would of
course, need an extra iron, I don't. It depends on what surgery you had
too. This website I use is great for info:GO TO WWW.LAPSF.COM, ON THE LEFT
SIDE BLUE BOX CLICK "WEIGHT LOSS AND REVISIONAL
SURGERIES" THEN CLICK "INTRO-WHAT ARE MY OPTIONS", SCROLL
DOWN TO WHERE YOU SEE THE PICTURE
OF A STOMACH-CLICK HERE TO VIEW THE "SURGERY COMPARISON CHART".
PRINT THIS EMAIL SO YOU

I totally agree with Erica and Jo. Bariatric Advantage vitamins are the
best. I had RNY on 11/3/09. I at first did the Adult Centrum chewables and
could not handle the taste after surgery and you have to take 3 of those.
SO, I did the BA vitamins and I can really tell a difference after taking
them. They will send them to you automatically with paying no tax or
shipping. At least start out using these, they really, really are your best
bet. Use my name if you order from BA!
