My surgeon said if I didn't have a BM within 4 days, to take Milk of
Magnesia - ONLY Milk of Magnesia - it is gentle on your system, but will
clean you out.

Get some Dulcalax suppositories. If you can't find them, get some glycerin
ones. The Dulcalax works best of the two. They gave me one in the
hospital.

Everyone's digestive system is different, and this is a surgery that
definitely messes with your intestines.
Just take it easy and be patient. Certainly ask your doctor's office for
advice.
After my RnY last year I would sometimes alternate between constipation
& diarrea.
Remember, you are not eating much right now...really you should be on
liquids for a while, so you are not going to be having normal bowel
movements for a some time.
Good luck.
