Question:
So, what was your diet like BEFORE wls?
did you have to submit a food journal to your doc/surgeon? if so, how honest were you? — Amanda T. (posted on May 12, 2008)

yes, I had to submit a 3-day food journal to the dietician.
I was pretty honest....I mean what's the point of lying...they're there to
help. Plus by seeing unhealthy food patterns, the dietician can recommend
whether a bypass or a lapband is best for you.

Yup, I had to do a food journal (still do, in fact) and yup, I'm honest.
No point in being otherwise, and wasting my time and the time of the
professionals I see.

Yes, I had to do a 3 month food journal. It is really for insurance
purposes to make sure that you are following some sort of diet regimen.
Tell the truth in what you eat and don't feel bad if you slip up. Good
Luck!!

I had to do mine on line. My doc perfered that we give him the facts and
admit that we all are human. I had some problems, especially when
thanksgivingcame in the middle of my 1000 calorie a day diet. Before
surgery (4 days) I was switched to a liquid diet and I had a poor start,
but they were OK with me being honest about it. Best of success to you.

Be honest! You hurt no one but yourself when this is your chance to really
HELP yourself. Seriously...Time to face the truth :) Take a deep sigh and
don't lie...not about this...
I keep a journal on and off to keep track of my calories when i think I
might be falling off track...It helps keep me successful when I can totally
admit my faults and accept I am still not perfect...
I wish you the same...being dishonest helps nothing and no one...especially
you

I kept my food journal on fitday.com. I listed everything I ate, from pizza
to beer. Over the 3 months that I was seeing the nutritionist my eatng
habits improved. She never got angry, just told me to start cutting back on
the bad stuff. You are only hurting yourself if you are not honest. They
are there to help you.
