Question:
I need to have a Hysterectomy & would like to have my Tummy Tuck done at the same
time. Have trouble finding Plastic surgent that works with a OBGYN to combine the 2. Looking for a referral or any information from someone who has gone through this to help me out. I had Lap Band surgury 2 yrs ago. Lisa — lisalbjflooringinc (posted on November 2, 2007)

I can't help you there but I got a tummy tuck 3 months ago and it was the
best thing ever!!! They took 6 pounds of skin off my tummy. I am SO
THRILLED with the results! Keep trying.... You will be so happy you
did!!!

Boy, Lisa - good luck finding someone, but they're two major surgeries that
are done two very different ways so I'm not sure any surgeon would be
willing to do it. It seems like a lot of surgery at one time, but you never
know. Hope you find someone if that's what you really want to do!

I had a hysterectomy and tummy tuck and also a hernia type repair done at
the same time. 7 hour surgery. My plastic surgeon and OBGYN had no problem
doing it and also they had to enlist a general surgeon for the hernia. The
doctors offices coordinated everything for me. I was in the hospital 5
days. I am glad I did it. Don't get me wrong...it was major. On the outside
alone...around 200 stitches. 2 huge drains. That was the worst, going home
with those for a week. Having to have a hysterectomy would have been more
emotional or devastating had it not been for the perk of the tummy tuck.
That made it worthwhile. Good luck.

I have had both GYN and plastic surgery, but they would not do them at the
same time. I had to have the gyn surgery and wait 6 months and then have
the tt. I actually waited almost a year, both surgeries were big
recoveries. It is wise to do them separately.
