Question:
anyone have Dr Mehta? and did anyone have Carpal Tunnel Syndrom
I am still searching for a doctor that has a good rep from central Jersey. I wanted Dr Capella, but his assistant doesnt take my insurance and I am not paying out for something the head surgeon should be doing. I have been looking into Dr Mehta in New Brunswick, NJ anyone have info on him Like how many surgeries he has done and his mortaility rate? I heard Robertwood is the worst hospital has high Mortaility rate. and do you know if that is true and lastly I have carpal Tunnel syndrom anyone have WLS and have Carpal tunnel? — kellisobo (posted on June 5, 2006)

I can't help you much with your doctor, but I had carpal tunnel for years,
then it got really bad, so had it repaired. I had RNY in August of 2002.
The carpal surgery was a breeze.

I have Carpal Tunnel Syndrom and my doctor is wanting to do surgery. I am
holding out, I think being overweight has aggravated it (by having to
stretch and reach places that are hard to get to) pardon my frankness. I
have recently begun my journey to WLS and I'm hoping that my carpal tunnel
will improve as I lose weight. Hope this answer helps some.

I had carpal tunnel for about 7 years before my RNY. I noticed it with my
first pregnancy. I'm three years out this month and the carpal tunnel is
only noticible if I've really overdone it on the computer all day at work,
not nearly as bad as before.
Good luck to you.

Kelly,
Would your insurance company cover the surgery in another state. There is
a Bariatric clihci in Harford county Maryland call the Upper Chesapeake
Clinic and Dr. Terrence Fullum is the Director. He is one of the top WLS
surgeons in the Washington, DC area.

I had surgery with Dr. Mehta in December 2005. He has support group and
informational sessions each month one in East Brunswick and later in Toms
River. I did a lot of research on Dr. Mehta and other NJ surgeons in the
area before I chose Dr. Mehta since he had performed a lot of surgeries. I
know during one informational session he was asked how many patients he has
lost and he said one out of all his patients. I do know he has a great
support group for his patients. If you are thinking about choosing him as
your surgeon you should go to one of his seminars. They are listed on his
website. http://www.mehtabariatriccenter.com/
