Question:
does anyone know about taking vit. E really shrinks skin?
I was doing this girl's hair the other day and she had lost 90 pounds "the hard way" and she swears by taking vitamin E because it will actually help heal your body and shrink your skin from the inside out, she looked good so I believed her, but I wanted to ask if anyone knows or if you can tell me of a chewable or liquid.I already take 2 chewable bugs bunny a biotin, and a B12 a day -5 months out down 80+ — SHILOH S. I do not know about Vitamin E shrinking skin but I got some Vitamin E cream
for after surgery so that I will heal better and will not have so much
scarring. It works similar to cocoa butter.

A beautitian suggested I take extra vitamin E to keep my hair from falling
out (it's falling out by the fistful anyway), and someone else suggested
vitamin E cream to improve the scars. The scars look pretty good (but I
don't know if they would look pretty good anyway even if I hadn't been
using the cream). But my skin looks like a mama elephant's--all wrinkly
and droopy. So I'd say the vitamin E didn't help that. Although, a number
of people have commented that my skin looks good these
days--"glowing" and clear--so maybe it helps there, but it didn't
do any shrinking for me.

Hi! Sorry to say that Vitamin E shrinking skin is an urban legend. It
certainly doesn't hurt your skin but it doesn't shrink it. Skin that has
carried around an excessive amount of weight for many years loses it's
integrity. It's something you can't get back. The younger you are the
more elasticity your skin has but even still you may have some sagging.
Buy a good girdle or "all in one". It makes all the difference
in the world! Congrats on your great weight loss!

Yes, the typical Vit E is oil, but there is a Dry Vitamin E that I take. I
was having trouble with severe rashes due to severe dry skin, but taking
the E has helped tremendously. I don't think E will make a hard body out
of a previously MO person, especially if they have been large for alot of
years. But it will help overall skin health. And keep from wrinkling AS
BAD. Note I didn't say it would stop wrinkles all together...

I'm sorry...what is "the hard way"? No, wait...I'd rather know
what is the 'easy way'?
How can we expect those unsupportive of WLS to realize how difficult this
is if we refer to it as 'the easy way'?
JMHO....
