Of course, if it is sugar-free. Otherwise, why would a post-op want to
drink a sugar-laden drink like regular Kool-aid?

Nicole,
Being a post-op for 5 mos., I can tell you that Kool-Aid is a great change
from water. I do not handle pop at all-must be the fiz. I would like to
ask if others have an incredible thirst since surgery? I remember getting
an x-ray right after surgery and they had me drink some barium and I
bargained for water first. They let me suck on a swab with ice water, then
another, then another. Each time they wanted me to get on my side, I got
more ice water. The minute I woke up, I wanted water and have had a glass
in my hand ever since. I wonder if I got dehydrated or what? I bought
some Pedialyte today thinking that a small glass of that two or three times
a day might get me back to normal. Any suggestions out there?

Yes, as long as it's sugar free. I drink Crystal Light and like it a lot.

Ah, Kool Aid....I use the regular packets sweetened with Splenda. It
tastes great and you truly can't tell the difference in taste by it being
sweetened with Splenda! It's not diet dr. pepper, but I can't handle the
carbonation now.

Sugar free kool-aid comes in boxes not packs like regular kool-aid but is
usually found in the same section at the grocery store. Crystal-lite has
been my beverage of choice since my surgery, but believe it or not, they
don't have plain 'ol cherry flavored...sf kool-aid does. I've not tried
regular kool-aid sweetened myself with equal or spenda, but I suppose it
would be good too.

I drink it, but often times it causes the dumping....I guess because of the
sugar in it
