the work day I am beat as well. Heard that it is lack of vitamins and iron
but just know that you are not alone and hope that someone on here with
more experience can offer some help. Hang in there~

I'm almost 6 weeks post op and dont have a lot of energy yet but don't feel
like crashing at the end of the day. At 3 weeks P/O I spoke with the nurse
at my surgeons office and she suggested drinking G2 Gatorade diluted with
water, or Smartwater. The electrolytes really have helped me. Good luck and
hang in there!

Make sure you are hydrated and that you have a vitamin B suppliments. Also
getting your protein. I found these little water packets by Special K that
are flavored and not too bad if you keep the water cold or even freeze it
or add fruit, ice and soy milk for a smoothie. 5grms of Protein for 20
ounces so if you drink your 60 ounces of water all day, sipping, thats 15
grms of protein. Also, body is still healing so give yourself a smidge of
time. I'm about 10 weeks out and just now have started feeling somewhat
normal. Good luck and God bless you.

I am seven months post op and I went through this and found that by
doubling up on my vitamins and trying to get more exercise has really
helped. Talk to your doctor and get some blood work to check vitamin
levels.

Oh yes, quite normal! I used to sleep about 5 hours average but after my
op (just over a year ago) I was sleeping 16 hours a day. It is normal for
a few weeks but, unfortunately, mine went on for about 4 months. My
surgeon said it is because the body is working overtime to repair itself
& adjust.

I agree with Jana and the others. Just cut yourself some major slack in
terms of your personal life right now. This is all part of the process.
Concentrate on what you need to do for your health. Work to learn new
habits. Give yourself permission to say 'no' to extra complications and
obligations right now. Ask a little help from family members and promise
all of you some special outing when you start feeling energetic. In a few
months, you will be wanting to do fun things you wouldn't have considered
before! It's all coming, but you need time for your body and mind to catch
up.
