Question:
I am considering having revisional surgery. I had stomach stabling 18 years ago, and
never lost much weight, I want to hear from anyone who has had a revision, from VBG to Gastric bypass. Thanks, hope to her from like minds! — southern-lady1 (posted on January 26, 2007)

I had stomach stapling in '76 and lost about 80lbs & that was it. I
just had a revision to the DS on Oct.17th & I've lost just over 50lbs
so far. My Dr. is very pleased & so am I.

A freind of mine just had her Revisional RNY yesterday of course it had to
be done open too. But she had some form of Bariatric Surgery 15 years ago
to then have it Revised 5 years later to a Roux-en-y but back then they
didn't seperate the stomachs just put a staple line in with the re-routing.
But that was foiled also as the Staple line disrupted. Causing food to
enter both her pouch and her old stomach. So my Surgeon did the Revision
yesterday. And now she has a seprated Pouch & an old stomach. And doing
very well. Surgery took about two hours as they need to do it Open due to
the other Surgeries Scare Tissues. She had gain back everything she lost
before the disruption but again wasn't eatting as though she had a surgery
at all.

There are millions of failed VBG to RNYers out there, they do really well!
I know lots of them myself.
