I was only at the hospital for 55 hrs...but the one and only thing I used
that I took with me was Lip Balm..I took a book and some other things..but
used none of it..
make sure you have some BAGGY clothes to wear home.. I had a big pair of
sweat pants and a baggy T-shirt..you wont want anything that buttons or
zips..trust me.. and GOOD LUCK you will be so amazed with yourself
soon..

I took a robe and slippers cause they want you up and walking ASAP, if you
are having open it is quite hard to reach down front when you pee (to wipe)
someone recommended a wooden spoon to wrap your toilet paper around for a
little extra hand up.Lip balm is a must because you get quite parched. Good
Luck it is an awesome journey. Pam

I agree -lip balm and those little breath strips too because you won't
be allowed to drink anything after surgery til they check your pouch for
leaks - your mouth gets sooooo dry...They brought me those glycerin oral
swabs with a cold glass of water to dip them in- I'd swipe/swab out my
mouth and gums etc and it made all the difference in the world...
everything you need otherwise the hospital will provide-- they'll give you
a big ol gown to wear backwards for a robe if they don't have any robes to
fit and those socks with the non skip strips on them too plus all the
toiletries too - if you wear dentures you may want to bring a couple
tablets for them and possibly something to read oh and ask ahead about
if there's a cost for your tv service, our hospital charged $5.00 a day
cash for anything beyond the couple channels that the hospital broadcasts
on . If possible leave your purse at home ,you won't need a watch either -
all the rooms have a wall clock these days.. the minimum of things to
bring is best - you only have to carry it back out when you leave and then
no worries about it in any way...lol
