Question:
DOES ANYONE KNOW WHY I SNEEZE WHEN I GET FULL? 10TMHS POST-OP. EVERYTHING IS GREAT!

Maybe that's your soft stop sign. I know I've had several .. runny nose, hiccups, back pain .. they tend to change over time.

there must be a trigger there somewhere I sneeze when I feel nauseated must bee some connection from your stomach to what ever makes you sneeze

I have heard of other people who sneeze when they are full. For me I get a runny nose...lol. Strange isnt it....

I don't know the answer but I was so glad to see the question. I have had sneezing issues with food and now I wonder if it means I'm full! I seem to sneeze the most with chicken, which almost always gets stuck no matter how well I chew it.

Some researchers think that the running nose/sneezing is a sign that your body is having a histamine response to too much food (treating as some sort of allergan). Interesting theory but pretty common occurence.

At least it has a name: gustatory rhinitis (food irritates nose) LOL and like everyone figured out, it has to do with the "off switch" inside us. Mine runs. Makes me crazy. After years of working with "us", the other answers are what I've seen, too. I HATE hiccups, so compared to that, runny nose isn't bad at all. LOL

People have different reactions to being full. There are people in our support group that sneeze, burp, hiccup, I get a runny nose. My nose starts to run before I get that full feeling so I stop eating when my nose starts to run.

omg, i never noticed that i sneezed till right after i read this post (just got done eating and sneezed like 3 times) and i was just thinking "why have i been sneezing so much lately, i never sneeze!" well i guess this kind of answers it... thanks.. oh 4mos post op, rny was 412, now 298.... goodluck everyone
