Question:
Any discounted programs for people who can not get medical insurance
We are self employed & they will not approve me for medical insurance due to my BMI which is 48. I know I can finance but we do not have the best credit. We live in Sacramento California and I have even been looking on clinical trial websites. I need help and some guidance or someone to make my dream come true. I would love to have surgery but need help finding someone to do it maybe on a sliding scale. If you have any ideas or know a surgeon who has a big heart that would be wonderful. Thank you and GOD Bless! — ness1999 (posted on August 16, 2009)

Whatever the cost it will be worth it in the end for you will gain your
health back. I would look for a doctor who will work with your situation. I
think finding a hospital to allow you to make payments will be the larger
challenge. Best of luck to you, keep us posted.

I take home approx, $2500/mo and Stanford Hospital in Palo Alto considered
that to be "low income" and accepted me for financial assistance.
My portion of the bill was about $5000.00 after ins. paid the rest, but
because of the financial assistance, they paid the intire balance. So try
calling hospital first and talk with them re: financial assitance to see
what or how they can help you. Best of luck

I went to Mexico & had lap band private pay @ 1/3 the cost of US. As a
nurse & hospital surveyor I can say it was a great experience. If you
want more info let me know
