At your stage you need to get your protein in and you should try to get as
much as you can from food which means you don't have much room for salads.
If approved by your doctor and nutritionist you can try a little after you
each your protein but you will probably find you don't have room to eat
that much salad. At least I don't. Remember Protein first.

I know that every person is different. I am 13 months out and I still have
a very hard time with salads. As the prior poster noted, your protein
intake is more important. Has your doctor cleared you for eating salads?
My best to you. Peace.

I was told I could eat raw frutis and veggies and fiber again at 3 mos...I
was sooooo ready too...but unfortunately I could not tolerate many raw
veggies or fruit for well over a year post op...And it was even longer for
citrus and onions, salad and apples...But we are all different...You should
introduce one raw veggie a day or a mealuntil you know what things you can
tolerate or not...But do not give up trying things that might bother you
one day because the next time you try it , it might not bother
you...Eventaully I begane eating all my raw foods again...Good luck!

I, too, greatly craved salads. I do eat them... protein first, then salad
(up to 1/4 of a meal.) My nutritionist says I'm eating too much, but
burning it off with exercise... I'm ahead of schedule losing weight.
Before I could tolerate the whole vegetables, I juiced them for a glass of
fresh veggies each AM. I'm 5 months post op.

I really missed veggies early on, but I didn't eat many until I reached
goal weight. Protein was always first . You can eat beans...they have
protein. But I do put lettuce on wraps occasionally. You do get back to
where you eat normally again. Just take this time to really change how you
think about food and in time you will be eating a nice square meal in the
right proportions. But don't be in a hurry. Give yourself time. The food
isn't going anywhere. Once you see a significant change in weight, you will
be anxious to eat to lose and won't worry about salads. They take up space
in your belly and give nothing to you nutritionally. Remember~ Eat to live,
not live to eat! Hugs to you and best of luck! Kim
