Question:
Does Tricare cover the plastic surgery of extra skin removal from gastric bypass?
I have read and heard a couple times, but wanted to know if anyone knew for sure if Tricare would cover the surgery for excess skin from having gastric bypass. From what I haver hear they will if you loose 100lbs and up. Thanks for anyone with info! — Christina D. (posted on June 12, 2008)

You will probably have to document all rashes/problems and have severe
hanging skin...

I am having my surgery at Madigan Army hospital and they do a tummy tuck
after you are 1 year out, or met your goal. My support group leader also
got a breast reduction at the same time. I was told doing 2 procedures is
done on a case by case basis.
