Question:
IS THIS THIS NORMAL NOT TO EAT HARDLY NOTHING?
I am 9 weeks post op and lost 45 pounds. However, I am having the hardest time eating. I am still eating yogart and two or three spoonfools of soup. I tried to eat a small piece of meat but I had to vomit it out. I had an endoscopy about four weeks ago because my opening was too narrow. Help! Is this normal? — JONEEN R. I am 10wks PostOp and find that I really eat very little despite the fact
that I've not had to have any additional procedures such as an endoscopy. I
find that 2 Protein Shakes and a couple bites of something at some point
during the day holds me just fine... Is this normal? I have no idea.

I labored under a lot of nausea for the first 10 weeks or so; as a result,
I really did have to force myself to eat. For me, part of the problem was
that I had a bad head cold and my mucus (and post-nasal drip) was filling
my pouch---yum!
The important thing is try to remember to get on a schedule-- even if you
only have a few tablespoons of broth, at least you will be training
yourself to eat at regular times.
Good luck-- hope you're feeling better soon.

I am 5 months out and still do not get hungry. I haven't been hungry since
I had the surgery. I have been told that eventually this will go away and I
will get hunger pains again.
The key thing I recommend is that you make sure you get all your protein in
each day. To do that you will probably need to eat 4-6 small meals even if
you aren't hungry. -Janine

You really do in the first few months, especially is you're having nausea
problems force yourself to eat. Your surgeon should have given you minimum
daily protein levels, water, vitamins, etc. to do each and every day. It's
hard in the beginning, but you really have to do it to maintain good health
while you're losing.

If you are able to get your protien, water and vitamins in you're fine, you
don't NEED food right down you've got plenty stored up as fat.
