You may need to get your blood tested as usually this could be a sign of
low iron. Which may be fixed by taking iron vitamins or an iron infusions.

If you recently had surgery it could be from ketosis. I had this the first
month or so after my RNY. I thought this was a very common side effect. I
would double check with your surgeon though to be safe.

So,your perception of a metallic taste can be due to an assortment of metal
mouth factors. However, the most common causes of the unflavorful taste of
metal are medications used for treatment of:
antibiotics
kidney stones
antidepressants
anesthetic ~ lidocaine
giardiasis ~ metronidazole
trichomoniasis ~ tinidazole
chronic alcoholism ~ disulfiram
rheumatoid arthritis ~ auranofin
high blood pressure ~ captopril
low calcium treatment ~ calcitriol
weight loss, diabetes ~ metformin
A metallic taste in your mouth is not an uncommon symptom, and metal
tasting is typically not a serious problem.
