Question:
I know I should be getting 60 grams of protein daily, but
How many grams of carbs and fats should I be getting. Even percentages would help. I am 10 months post RNY and feel like I am getting into a rut as far as eating goes. I have been on a plateau at 94 pounds for a month and some of it is the way I am eating. I am a very black and white person so if I know how many grams to eat, it will help me tremendously. Thanks in advance for any help! — Dawn A. (posted on October 6, 2009)

I am 91/2 months out. Just talked to my doc about this. He told me less
than 40 grams of carbs and sugar.....only 800 calories a day. Less than 40
doesn't mean to eat all 40. If you can get in less than that then great.
Up your protein to 75-80 grams. Also change your workouts to more interval
and resistance training. I think this will help. Either way my doc said
weight loss at this point will slow down tremendously. We have to work
really hard. good luck, hope this helps.

Talk to your surgeon's nutritionist, best one to ask...

Ok, I believe the way it goes is 70% protein, 20% carbs, and 10% fat. I
will look into it and let you know if it is different. The plateau you are
on is your bodies way of slowing down to adjust to the rapid weight loss.
If you do change up the order or way you eat, your body will work harder to
bump up your metabolizm and be sure you are getting water in, that could
slow down your weight loss. But you could also be losing inches, as they
don't show up on the scale as a loss. Hope this helps. I am sure another
post will correct my % on the groups, if I am wrong. take care
