Question:
Does my ADHD Medication absorb correctly?
I was recently diagnosed with Adult ADD. My medication (CONCERTA 27mg 1xday) seems to only last 2-3 hours. I am concerned it is not being broken down and absorbed correctly. What are the alternatives regarding dosing? — My_Karma_03 (posted on June 10, 2009)

Good question! I was on medication that felt like it was starting to wear
off or fail. So my Doc changed my prescription from taking it once a day to
taking it twice a day. If you are a bypass patient, your meds don't/won't
be absorbed like they used to, so you should consult with your Doc
(Psychiatrist or Internist) and remind them that you have a malabsorbtive
gut now, so a change in your daily in take routine or dose may be in order.
Good luck!! - Darlene

It's probably not...Recently I had done some research on meds because I was
finding it hard to control pain that I didn't have until recently and
nothing was working or it was not working for more than a few minutes...I
found that many meds (depending where they are absorbed and how) do not
stay long or are malabsorbed...I found this information at medical study
sites at National Institute of Health (NIH) and American Journal of
Clinical Nutrition (AJCN) as well as other medical sites and universities
that run these studies...You can start by doing searches at these sites.
