First 54 lbs is an awesome loss. People hit plateaus and I am sure that is
what has happened. Call your Dr and Nutritionist if are worried about not
loosing weight and ask what in your diet you my need to change. Also are
you getting enough exercise? Second a RNY is a bypass and you don't need a
revision. A revision is something that is held out for someone who is
several years out and has either not lost all the weight they needed to or
has regained a good portion of weight.

Your kidding right? That's alot of weight. You should be thrilled!!
Don't you feel alot better? Do what your are supposed to, and you will
lose more, just not as fast as at first. I just had to get that thru my
head myself, here at 8+ months out. Congratulations on your loss!

That's 13.5 pounds a month! How fast did you want to lose? You're doing
great! I'm 3 months out and have lost 34 pounds and am thrilled!!! Enjoy
your success!

It takes a year or more to lose to all your weight...You're just getting
started sweetie and you are doing just fine! But you really have to give
yourself at least a year!!! Are you getting some exercise? I just added
"naked sit ups" to my day...Just before I get in the shower, I do
several sit ups and push-ups...It's fast and easy and you're all clean
right afterwards and ready to start the day! LOL

I am 6 1/2 months post op and have lost 81 pounds. At 4 months post op I
had lost exactly 55 pounds, the same as you! I had a Plateau about 3 months
out that lasted 3 weeks. Since then I have had a few plateaus that lasted
one week. Jennie, I promise you; you are right on track, girl! I went
through the same exact thoughts and doubts as you did, and wondered if I
was losing fast enough, or if it had stopped working or something.... Just
keep on keepin' on, you're going to be fine, and you're going to keep
losing weight, just like I am and we all are.... You will hit occasional
Plateaus, so don't be alarmed by them. I lose approximately 2 pounds per
week, pretty steadily nowadays.... Sometimes 3 pounds a week, sometimes 1
pound, but on average 2 pounds a week, which is 8 to 10 per month. Might
not seem like much, but it is, and it adds up!!!!!! We lose weight with
this surgery for at least a year, sometimes longer - you're 4 months out, I
am 6.5 months out; we still have more to lose and we will!!!!!!!!!! Just
keep in contact with everyone here; they can and will encourage and support
you and help you get past your fears or doubts. Keep taking your vitamins
and calcium and protein and drink your water/tea/crystal light. Try to eat
simply; tuna, fish. chicken, eggs, veggies, low-fat cheese. Try to avoid
the trappings of falling back in to the old habits of eating pizza and
tacos and breads, potatoes, pasta. Just eat proteins and veggies and avoid
the carbs. Try to walk on a treadmill or other type of exercise. Before you
know it, you'll be 6 months out and down 80 pounds, then at your 1 year
surgery anniversary and down ALOT of weight. There are so many people who
want this surgery and can't afford it or don't have insurance.... we were
lucky enough to have it, now keep your chin up; you can and will continue
to lose weight, just hang in there and do not weigh yourself more than once
a week; our weight can and will fluctuate a pound or two from day to day,
and it may be misleading to weigh yourself too often. If you have to, pick
the scale up off the floor so you wn't walk past it every day, and put it
in the closet!!!!!!!!!!! Best wishes!

Jennie, I do know how you're feeling; some of the ol' timers here will
remember I myself posted a question here in the Q&A section several
months ago, feeling all down, and saying I thought my surgery wasn't
working, and wondering if my surgeon actually did the surgery or if he just
opened me up and closed me up again!!!! Well, of course my surgery was
working, and I had just hit a plateau. I also went thorugh a phase where I
found suddenly I was "too hungry". I was panicked, and thinking
oh my God, why? This is like I was before surgery, why do I keep wanting to
eat eat eat? Well, people here helped me figure out it was because I was
eating too many carbs and salt; I had bought some frozen dinners and they
had tons of salt and mashed potatoes or stuffing so they were loaded with
empty carbs!!!!! I was also eating some crackers which were empty carbs.
These foods were causing my blood sugar to spike up, then crash down and
everytime it crashed it was causing unreasonable hunger!! Once I went back
to simple good proteins like chicken, tuna, cottage cheese, cheddar cheese,
baby food vegetables, and a little Fiber One cereal (this cereal has so
much fiber that it helps to cancel-out the effects of its carbs), I almost
immediately noticed my hunger was back under control!!!!!! I can not stress
enough to people to avoid carbs, stuff made from flour, wheat, potatoes,
rice, crackers, breads, cereals. I see people here who are 3 or 4 or 6
months out saying they're eating pizza and tacos and potatoes and subway
sandwiches - I don't want to hurt anyone's feelings o judge, but in my
"opinion" they are lying to themselves to think they're ok eating
those things, even "occasionally". They're slowly slipping back
in to there old habits. They're spiking their blood sugar and inducing
cravings and hunger. I KNOW what it is to lie to yourself about what you're
eating, convincing yourself that it's ok to have one of these once in
awhile, or telling yourself that the subway is ok because it has protein
and vegetables. Well, the subway sandwich is ok if you take it out of the
bread roll and just eat the meat and tomatoes/lettuce/cheese! Throw the
damn bread in the nearest garbage can!
Anyway, my point is, I do understand your fears, and you are OK, and right
on track, and you just feel free to post questions here as often as you
need to for advice and reassurance; lord knows I have posted questions here
many, many times myself, and it really does help!

I am 5 months out and I am down 61lbs. My friends mom had it the same day
as me and she is down 80lbs. Everyone is different, but you will lose.
Mine is slow, but I am losing and that's all that should matter. I feel
great and love clothes shopping. You will hit plateau's (sp??) Just don't
give up! Keep Smiling and thinking good thoughts!
