You may be eating too much , too fast, or you may still have to eat less solid foods if you are doing that. I am at 7 months post surgery and felt the way you have felt at times and had to really cut back and slow down on trying to eat too much too soon and the problems really become less. Dave

What kind od surgery did you have? My husband who had the lap-band and Mom-in-law who had the RNY were put on the same diet, 3 weeks liquid, 3 weeks puree, 3 weeks soft then soldis after that. Maybe it's too soon to start on solid foods.

I wonder if you should be eating solid food yet. On the program from my doctor we have 3 weeks of full liquids, 3 weeks of pureed foods, 3 weeks of soft food and then onto solid food. Maybe try going back to your first stage and then gradually add new solids. Good luck. Paula

I had the same experience, it was found that I had a very tight stricture. That is the hole which connects the new stomach to the intestines. They had to endiscopically widen or stretch this area to allow food to pass, but when I was on liquids I was fine.

Sally, You're either eating too much too fast and not chewing long enough. If need be you can always go back to softer foods. Don't push it and cause yourself problems. Take your time moving towards solid foods and stick to soft foods. I'm 10 months out and my breakfast is still a can of Dr. Atkins. As a matter of fact, I crept slowly back to solid foods and I mean very slowly. Remember, just because the wounds on the outside have healed doesn't mean the wounds on the inside have so you want to be very gentle. Take Care

It sounds like a stenosis. I am almost 4 weeks post op and had the same problem. Just got home 2 days ago from the hospital. Had to have an endoscopy with dilation to fix it. The first couple of weeks were ok but had alot of burping with eating and drinking and feeling like everything was hung up in my chest. Then the vomiting started even just drinking water. Call your doctor and let him decide what is wrong, but don't hesitate. Thats what they are there for.
