to start with, where in NC?
also, you could try posting this question in the NC forums. i'm sure
there's someone in your general location that could recommend a surgeon.

I would highly recommend Dr. Wade Nazari. He operates in Greenville, NC or
at Nash General Hospital WEight Loss Center in Rocky Mount, NC

before you start -- check with your insurance company -- chances are you
will need a BMI of 35 with co-mobidities or 40 without co-mobidities -- or
else you will have to be a self pay -- then ask your insurance for a list
of Gastro/Intestinal surgeons -- good luck

According to the NHI Criteria set for WLS (1992), patients need to have BMI
of 35 or greater with co-morbid factors, or BMI of 40, history of attempted
weight loss. Any physician who goes against these criteria is setting
himself/herself up for a law suit if something were to happen. On a
positive note, there is some talk that they may one day lower the BMI to
30, but that has not yet happened.

Dr. Paul Enoch is a wonderful doctor, and it really shows that he cares
about his patients. He has a office in Cary NC behind WakeMed hospital and
another office in Louisburg NC.
I hope this help let me know if I be of any service to you.
