Question:
I was wondering if any of you could prvide me with a website that lists a sample
post op diet at allthe various stages? My surgeon is recently new to the local area and most of his website is still under contruction. I've been through the nutrisionist meeting and got some information but what I would really like to see is a 7-day sample menu for all the post op stages. I saw one once before but can not locate it again. So if any of you who know a site that would have this information listed it would be greatly appreciated. Thank you — HAILEY (posted on February 27, 2006)

Hi. I don't know of a website, but I have everything from my dietician. I
would be happy to type that up for you. Of course, every surgeon/dietician
is different. Mine is not set up as a "7-day sample", because I
am on a stage for appr. 2 weeks at a time. My stages are liquid, full
liquid, pureed/mushy, soft, regular. I just had surgery on 02/06/06 and
I'm in the pureed/mushy stage. Feel free to e-mail me, if this sounds like
it would help you. I would be happy to share what I have. My
surgeon/dietician are fantastic! I have a binder that was given to me at
my consult and everytime I go to the dr. I take it with me. Everytime they
give me paperwork it goes right in the binder. A very handy way to keep up
with it all.

There's also a very informative book you can buy called Weight loss surgery
for Dummies. I bought this book last week, and it has everything in it,
from all the tests you will be required to get, why your doctor wants them,
to your hospital stay, what vitamins and suplements you'll need to take,
and the various stages of right after your surgery, and what you'll need to
eat/drink. You might want to check it out.
