Pennsylvania here. My son was on welfare and therefore Medicaid at the
time of his WLS. Everything was paid for. This was in 2003.

I have Ohio Medicaid..It is difficult to be approved but they do cover
it..I would go to the find a surgeon link on this site and call some of the
surgeons and see if they do..Or you could go to your state Medicaid website
and look it up Health and human services site...Or you could find the
insurance links on this site and look to see if medicaid has paid for any
wls in your state.

Check with your local Medicaid office; they can give you a list of doctors,
call your local hospital and check with your PCP. I also have Medicaid in
Maine and my surgeon here is wonderful. I suggest doing lots of research
before choosing a surgeon. Also check and see if there is a local WLS
support group in your area - these people are a wealth of information and
it does not cost you anything.
