Question:
After eating issues
I am almost 3 months post op; and I noted that even when eating slowly and not over indulging, that I still feel gaseous and a little queasy for the 30 mins until I am able to drink. For you guys that are further out; will this subside after my pouch has had more time to heal and I am further out post rny? I need some words of wisdom here! thanx guys!!! — robin.s2000 (posted on February 6, 2006)

I had the same problem at about the same time as you! Everything I ate
made me feel icky. My surgeon said that I had a slight stricture, and the
food went through extremely slowly. The reason I felt better when I had a
drink is because it was helping to wash that food through. I had to back
off and stick to very squishy things like cottage cheese, cheeses,
applesauce, etc. and chew, chew, chew! Eventually the problem subsided.
It took a couple weeks, but it did get better. Luckily I didn't have to
have it dilated like some people do. I still will have that sicky feeling
occasionally if I eat something that doesn't agree with me. Maybe try
softer foods and chew them into oblivion in very small bites! If you still
have trouble you should call your Dr. Best of luck to you and I hope this
helps!

How much are you eating over how much time? Is it possible you may be
following instructions, but eating too much for YOU? Are you eating past
the first full feeling to try to get your oz in?

I still have to watch what and how I eat, after a year. I still cannot eat
chicken and eggs. I have to wait for an hour after eating to drink and an
hour after ddrinking to eat.
