Question:
Can you have gastric bypass surgery if you have a small hiatal hernia?

They will usually repair it during your bypass surgery !

Yes
most of the time they get two birds with one stone. they may even remove
your gallbladder at the same time if it is bad. but yes they can and will
probably repair the hernia too.

Nearly everyone who is overweight has a hiatal hernia.
The op will eliminate the problems it causes. You'll no longer get the
indigestion, etc.

I did, he repaired my hernia in surgery

Yes my surgery was done on 04/08/2010, and they repaired my hernia right
there and then. I have no more heartburn, it's wonderful! I remember before
the RNY i was on antacids everyday.

my dr is planning to do gastric BECAUSE of my hiatal hernia. Its much
larger thamn most and has allowed my stomach to herniate into my chest = on
top of that I have andominal hernia leftover from an incison so he also
plans on doing that, all at the same time. Bare in mind it has not been
done yet. Waiting for insurance to approve :)
