Question:
4 months post op lap band - 82 pound loss; have stayed the same for the past 3 wks
Hi gang, I had lap band surgery on 9/8/09 and have so far lost 82 pounds. For about the past 3 weeks or so I've pretty much stayed the same. I know I will reach plateaus here and there but I'm just wondering if drinking coffee (not decaf) could be the reason I haven't lost anything else. I have 1 a day and have extra cream and 2 regular sugars (i know that's probably not the best thing to do but it's the only way i like it)... What do you think? Should i stop drinking coffee (I can definitely live without it). Could it make that much of a difference? I'm doing everything else by the book and have even started running again at the gym. Just looking for some feedback on whether or not coffeee w/extra cream and 2 sugars is killing my efforts... Also if people would like to let me know what kind of a diet they are (or have) followed at this stage in the game after lapband, I'd love to hear it. Thank you! — Lisa B. To lose weight you have to consume less than you burn up or burn up more
than you eat. Thats the only way it happens. You must also remember that
muscle weighs more than fat,you may need to check measurements more than
the scale at times. Salt can makes you retain water that can add to water
weight which is much different from fat weight. Hope this helps.

I am 3 months post op from Lapband and I have lost 70 lbs. I hit a plateau
and two reasons were I was eating some not good stuff. Not alot mind you
but enough to bring my caloric intake up. And I wasn't exercising much. But
my nurse told me that weight training or resistance training to build
muscle is the key. Muscle building burns fat and calories and at this point
it is what you need to do. Good luck.

When was your last fill? It may be as simple as needing another fill.

Thanks guys. I forgot to mention - I have had 3 fills (.5 CC's the first 2
times and 1 cc the last time). My last fill was on 1/7 and I'm still never
hungry - I have never been hungry since day 1. I've been going to the gym
and have started doing weights and walking and running on the treadmill -
any specific exercizes you can think of as far as weight/strength training?
Thank you.
