Question:
So has anyone else went vegetarian since RNY?

So since I had RNY Sept. 10th I had my appt with the nutritionist yesterday and she said I can now move up to stage 4. I c an have fruits and veggies raw or cooked. So my thing has been raw veggies. I CAN'T get enough of them. I've gotten to where I do NOT want meat at all of any kind with the exception of sea food, shrimp, salmon, tuna, but thats it. Is anyone else experiencing this?? Can you still lose weight if you just want to eat veggies? I'm sure its a protein thing but still...    — taylaroses (posted on October 9, 2009)

It is very important that you get your protein. Otherwise a large portion of the weight you lose will be muscle not fat. If you are having trouble eating meat, get with your nutritionist on ways to add protein to your diet.

Just so everyone is REAL CLEAR I DID talk to my nutritionist on Thursday and she is VERY aware of my issues with protein. That is why I have been getting creative with the foods I eat and I have a recipe for a protien shake a friend gave me so we are going to try that out too!

Gee Lisa.....I think no one else has posted here to this because after asking a question in your post, you then bit the head off the one person that did answer you. And my reply is ...we all have went through this but some to one extreme and some to others. I personally have trouble with beef and pork. So mentally I do not want them.

As long as you plan lots of protein rich foods you are fine. i eat very little meat and at 14 months out I do fine. Many people go this route because of problems with meat. It is good you are enjoying fruits and veg.
