Question:
Anyone around 5ft. have good success w/ lap band?

Hi, Yes. I did not have Lap-band..but I know of several people that have had great luck with the weight loss and the use of the band. I did not want the lap-band and my Dr agreed with me. I have seen both RNY & lapbanders in my group all do well. Hope this adds to the info you gather to make up your mind..or course the DR. plays a big roll in that also. I am 5'3 and had lapband 3 years ago Aug 7. I have done what I consider being great with it. I started out at 231 and I am at goal weight and have been ever since the first year. I am at 150. I have had no problem maintaining it either. I am very happy with my outcome and very glad I choose this over the Gastric Bypass. I had a friend who went that route and had it done 6 months before I had mine done. She has never hit her goal weight and has actually gained some weight back. I do hope this helps and I hope you do well with whatever you choose to have.

hi my name is sandy i had the lap band done january 5th 2009 and i have been doing realy good since my surgery i lost 60 lbs since january 5th and i lost 50 lbs before my surgery i say if you want to get the lap band done go for it congrats on wanting to get weight loss surgery your making a good move . take care sandy
