Question:
Which cosmetic surgeries will medicaid typically pay for?
I know it must be medically necessary for most insurances to cover a cosmetic type procedure. But what procedures do these usually consist of? Someone told me that it is possible to get the tummy tuck and breast reduction/lift. But I don't know. I'd appreciate any information as I know I'm gonna be needing both of those procedures. Thanks! — PaulaJ (posted on April 21, 2009)

not pay for any cosmetic surguries. Good Luck!!

Hi Paula,
The first answer was very correct! BUT< if you get a infection..yeast
type..sounds gross but your DR. has to treat it at least 3 times and have
very good documentation in order to request a PANELECTOMY (? not sure on
correct spell) and the same applies to the breasts. I ahve not had this
yet done..but several people have done this in this manor. I have yet to
drop all the weight yet. not yet a year out. Best of luck!

I have passport & medicaid & they fully paid for my breast
reduction but my breast were huge, they took 8 lbs off each breast so I
think it depends medically
