Gas is an on going problem for most...Probiotics help tremendously...After
5 years I have come to realize that the times I have bad/or smelly gas
happens when I eat something with sugar, sugar alcohols or high simple
carbs. Most of the time I keep gas under control, and I know when I am not
eating right...EVERYONE in the house knows as well! LOL Other times it is
cabbage or broccoli type things that can also give me regular gas and beeno
or probiotics help if you take it with the food you know will cause you
problems...But yes it is more a problem after GB than before! Especially
the smelly kind! Never had that pre op!

Broth really gave me problems at first... Once I figured that out I really
watched what gave me gas and avoided those foods.

I had my Lap RNY on December 9. I had gas really bad for two or three
days. It hasn't been a problem since, but I wasn't a really
"gassy" person pre-op. I eat tons of beans now in order to get
my protein in and don't have a problem with gas. I think it's more
individual than a whole...
Best of luck.

I get gas a lot especially trapped gas. I take Phazyme daily and it helps a
lot.
