I just had hernia surgery on June12th. 2 days later I had to have surgery
for a leaking intestine. The Dr told me I would be able to go back to work
the following week from the hernia surgey. Well, after the leaking
intestine, I had to take the full 6 weeks off. Just came back to work last
week, I am still hurting a sore. It was horrible. Can't really tell you
what just the hernia surgery would have been, but I really don't think it
would have been that bad. Just the surgery for the leaking intestine was
the bad one. Good luck to you.

I had Lap. Hernia repair a few years ago. It was an umbilical hernia. The
surgery was one of the easiest I've ever had. Very little discomfort...no
pain. Was back at work in 2 weeks. The biggest issue was no lifting for 6
weeks.

I had lapband, hernia repair and a tubal ligation all at once. I was more
concerned about the tubal than anything and it was the easiest part of my
surgery. I am 3 and a half weeks post op and still quite miserable between
the port and the hernia repair. (not sure which one is causing the most
pain). I am really discouraged because I haven't been able to exercise at
all - even less than normal - and I have not lost any weight. Anyone have
an suggestions??
