Most MOs have high BP, I did. It generally goes away as the weight drops:)

It is because of the blood pressure problems that my pcp suggested the
surgery. For the past two years I've been on meds for hbp. Although
i'm having the surgery because of it my surgeon says that I must also
consider other factors that contribute to hypertention such as stress and
family history. I do have some stress and most of the females in my family,
heavy or not, have issues with high blood pressure. So basically you have
to consider all these factors. Best of health.

I was on 2 meds for my blood pressure . When I was d/c'd from the
hospital,my doc took me off everything. I was unsure about this, so I got a
portable wrist blood pressure cuff, and have checked if every day for a
few weeks. And my blood pressure has been 'normal'. It is one of my
miracles. Several people in my family are on blood pressure meds, also,so I
know it is heredity, also. I checked other blood pressures at doctor's
appts, and it has been good. I hope that you will have a similar experience.
I hope that this has helped your journey.

I had a similar experience to some of the other answers here. I had the
operation on 4/9 (18 days ago) and within ONE WEEK of discharge from the
hospital, my doc took me off my BP meds too. When I asked my surgeon how
this could be so instantaneous he said simply he didn't know but my BP was
within normal range! That's 2 pills a day I don't have to take anymore. I
wish I had known that would happen so fast. I wouldn't have refilled the
darn scripts while I was still in the hospital!!!! Oh well, that's a quick
$20 in co pay gone.
In love and lighter!

Actually, mine was always low prior to surgery. Since then, it's been very
low & causing a lot of dizziness!
