hello, i had lapband done but not with dr. rohit with dr. Ramasy Dallal. He
is in Pa in einstine hospital in elkins park north east Pa. he is great.
but i dont reccomand lapband because u dont lose the weight u are
expecting. is slow and not alot of weight. i had mine in 9/22/09 i lost 50
ponds with in a year and 2 month. when freinds i new did bypass or sleeve
or rny they lost in their first 6 month around 50 to 60 ponds and some 80
pounds so it realy depends on whatu feel comfortable with. good luck with
ur choice. if have any question e mail me at [email protected]

Delisa: I, like the poster before me (Nour) had sx with the same practice
(Einstein Bariatrics). I am approaching my 1-year anniv. (12/29/09) and
although I underwent RNY w/Dr. Trang I cannot say one BAD word about this
practice (located just northwest of Philadelphia in Elkins Park, PA).
According to Dr. Trang (@ my 9-mo. postop OV) I am a textbook patient. No
problems, complete off-the-chart success and now 11-3/4 mos. out 121# down
and still losing albeit it a 1/2-pound here and a 1/2-pound there. Now
that I am as light as I am I am somewhat motivated to keep losing, but in
all honesty if I were to stay where I am for the rest of my days then I
would die a very happy woman! This sx has changed my life, my outlook and
yes, overall even my personality for dealing with the common stressors in
life we all experience from day-to-day. What more can I say? I am happy
and willing would encourage anyone else who is considering this option to
at least research the practice I chose b/c it was overall the very best
surgical experience of my life. All kidding aside, I had 9 previous
surgical interventions in my mid-40 age range previous to the GBS, so I
think I can speak with experience about overall health, hospital stays,
etc. For me to still "rave" about Einstein is truly worth
considering. Best of luck to you ... and keep active on the boards. The
support is instrumental--particularly in your "early days" on the
journey. Godspeed!

I was just worried about the gbs because of the 8 and 10yr complications
that my aunt and cousin are dealing with
