Question:
Suggestions for stage 3
I had RNY surgery on March 15. I feel great and have had no problems with getting sick yet. I started phase 3 today and would like some ideas so I can have a little variety. — jams951 (posted on March 23, 2010)

Stage 3 is regular diet? If so trial and error. Mashed potatoes, chicken,
veggies. Remember to chew real well and eat slowly. When you feel full
stop and rest for a while.

Yes,stage three is a regular diet. I have found that beef is hard to eat
because of all the conective tissue. Chicken is good. We have gone out to
eat once and found that two can eat for the price of one. I just took a few
bites off my wifes plate. Boy was it good.

seafood has a good protein to calories ratio. I know calories aren't an
issue right now, but one day they will be. Always good to count them now
and get used to what has what in it. I like sauteed fish and scallops best.
Shrimp is high in cholesterol. Best of luck to you! hugs,Kim

On phase three, you should be on soft/pureed foods. Which includes,
scrambled eggs, (those will fill you up fast) as most protein will. Thin
sliced lunch meat from the deli with cheese stick is good, I used stew and
just put it into a blender. I put a lot of normal food into the blender
and used broth for liquid. Stay away from tough cuts of meat. Try small
bites for chicken and tuna, shrimp is good too, but those are a dry food.
Potatoes, beans, I just used my blender a lot. Hope this helps a little.
