I really think you are dehydrated ecspecially if you feel like your going to pass out. They may need to start an IV so you can get fluids. I would ask the nurse what she thinks the problem might be.I'll keep you in my thoughts and prayers. Good luck...

Take a rest and try again later...You NEED to get up and walk even though it hurts...

Let them know the pain you are in and find out what is exactly going on. You should walk even if it hurts but you might need your kidneys checked; and starting an IV for fluids would certainly be helpful if you are dehydrated. vinnigirl, retired RN

Hi Tamica - I have had general anesthesia twice in my life, and each time I have not been able to urinate for 3 days afterwards. The docs told me that in some people it takes a while. All your systems go to sleep and often that one takes the longest to wake up, it is a common side effect. I would hope since you are in the hospital they are monitoring you so that you are not dehydrated... If you have the urge to go but you just 'can't' it it the anesthesia. If you never feel like you even have to go, it would likely be dehydration. When I had my WLS I had to come home with a catheter and go back to the clinic the next day. Even after they took it out, it was a few hours before I could go. Are you getting adequate pain meds? If the pain is that intense they should be giving you something more. Your body is in shock right now and if you are in a lot of pain it's not surpising you feel like you could pass out!! Make sure you communicate what you are feeling to your nurses...they are there to help you! Good luck:)
