I am a bit past the 3 month mark. I definitely have trouble with certain
foods... or did you mean in general?

I had my lap band 14 days ago and have not thrown up or had any major
issues.

I am just about at 3 months post op lapband and have trouble with steak,
shrimp and occasionally pork but otherwise have had no problems. I just had
my second fill yesterday and have 5cc in the band and can finally feel some
restriction and I feel full longer. Karen

You should be able to eat anything your band will tolerate.....but you must
keep your bite sizes ti about the size of a dime...and
chew...chew..chew..till your food is mush....you should always make sure
your meat items are very moist.......I can eat
chicken...beef....pork.....as long as I take tiny bites and chew well....if
you are drinking ( and you shouldn't be) with your food you have a better
chance of having problems as well as washing the food you eat right becak
out of your pouch....which will make you hungry in a shorter period of
time.....hope this helps

I am almost 2 years out from my LapBand and have a lot of experience being
too loose and too tight. It is a fine, continual tweaking of band
adjustments to find that elusive "sweet spot". If you are too
tight this soon after 3 months that you are having trouble eating, your
band is probably too tight. How many fills have you had? Have you gotten
something stuck? If so, your stoma will be irritated and swollen for a few
days... do liquids or mushy foods and allow it to heal. If you are not
able to get in your protein... call the doc and make an appointment.

I am just about three months out and have had some problems eating. I had
my first fill and wasn't able to eat much of anythign including the protein
shakes. Me Dr. took part of the fill out, but I still was having trouble
gettign all of my protein in with the new restriction. He went in again and
took more of my fill out, which has allowed me to eat more of a variety of
foods again. However I find if I let myself get too hungry before eating, I
will eat to fast and have problems with keeping solid foods (meat) down.
its important to always go back to liquids and mush for atleast 24 hours
after you have any kind of intolerance with your pouch. I find it helpful
to put mu fork down inbetween bites so i can concentrate on chewing and
eating slower. Please feel free to email me if you have any other
questions. [email protected]
Best of luck,

I am 6 mos. out and lost 47 lbs. At 4 mos. I began having trouble keeping
anything down, but I did enjoy the 4 lb. per week of weight loss. At my
support group they told me my band was too tight, went to the doctor for an
unfill. He removed 1 cc of saline and i gained 5 lbs - which he said I
would do. He was not happy I was losing so quickly. Four weeks later he
put in 1/2 cc and things were just fine for 2 weeks. Just yesterday he
finally got me to understand that the band will fill tighter if I get
something stuck. Things get irritated and swollen - thereby making it seem
that the band is even tighter. He removed 1/4 c.c. yesterday and said to
do liquids & soft foods for 2 days. So far, so good. I just had not
understood why I would have trouble a couple weeks after a fill. Hope this
helps.

I HAVE PROBLEMS, HAD LAP BAND OCT 22, 2007 ANY SOLID FOOD I EAT THE FIRST
FEW BITES I GO TO THE BATHROOM AND PUKE IT UP, THEN IT SEEMS AS THOUGH I
CAN USUALLY EAT AGAIN ESPECIALLY SOFT CREAM POTATOES OR SOUP, I THINK
I AM ABLE TO EAT TO MUCH AT TIME WHEN I DO KEEP IT DOWN, I'VE HAD 4 FILLS
AND HAD 1/2 CC TAKEN OUT3 MONTHS AGO LAST MONTH IT WAS PUT BACK IN. THE
NURSE TOLD ME I WAS TAKING TO BIG OF A BITE AND NOT CHEWING ENOUGH. I'M
TRYING TO BE MORE CAREFUL BUT HAVE HAD MY STOMACH IRRATED SEVERLY I KNOW
BECAUSE THIS HAPPENS EVERYDAY, THE ONE THING I CAN EAT EVERYDAY WITHOUT A
PROBLEM IS ICE CREAM SO HAVE EATEN ALOT TO KEEP FROM STARVING, I DIDN'T
KNOW TO GO ON LIQUIDS AND SOFT MUSHY FOODS FOR AN IRRATATED STOMACH FOR A
FEW DAYS, FOR WEEKS I HAVE JUST EATEN, PUKED AND EATEN AGAIN AFTERWARD.
I WORK ON THE ROAD ALOT AND IT GETS TIRESOME THROWING UP EVERY WHERE I GO.
AND I DONT THROW UP ALOT JUST ALITTLE ALWAYS WHAT IS STUCK AND WHITE FOAM
IF ANYONE ELSE HAS DONE THIS TELL ME HOW YOU FIXED IT. I SAW WHERE THE
PERSON BEFORE SD EAT THE SIZE OF A DIME, IF I EAT THAT SIZE ON CHICKEN,
BEEF OR BRAD, IT WOULD COME UP ITS MORE LIKE THE SIZE OF PEA ON SOLIDS.
BUT I DON'T WANT LOOSENED CAUSE I CAN EAT TO MANY OUNCES ANYONE ELSE HAD
THIS PLEASE TELL ME OBESE 1954
