Carrots are too early, and celery should be avoided because of stringy texture that may cause blockages. A few almonds may be OK, but chew them well. I also liked the Nature Valley Oat's N Honey crunchy granola bars, although they are slighly high in sugar (6g) and fat content. They come in 2 bars in a package, obtained from most markets. They are 1.4 oz packages--they do contain sugar as one ingredient. So buy one to try. Some patients react badly to the slightest amount of sugar. They didn't bother me one bit though.

When I was told I could have saltines I was exstatic. :) I like to eat a few of those in the morning, especially when I am feeling nauseated. It really helped, and the crunchiness was an added plus. :) You can probably do a few pretzels, but I would watch those. They are not terrbile for you, but you have to watch your carbs. Just a few ideas for you.

I would try about 3-5 pistachios to start off. I also had 2 whole wheat or high fiber crackers, read labels to see which are lower in carbs and high in fiber. Ask your nutritionist if you can have soy crisps...they are crunchy and have protein! I would stay away from sugary carbs as that will sabotage your quick weight loss. We all crave crunch especially after a month! Good luck.

I know the feeling and need for crunch. If it is "sweet" and crunch I am craving, I turn to Quakers Quakes Rice Snacks Caramel Corn flavor - Fat 0g Sugar4g Serving size 7 cakes (I usually can only eat 4 before I am full) They seriously taste good! For a less sweet taste and just need for crunch, I opt for Pepperidge Farm baked Goldfish pretzel 100 calories pouches - Fat 1.5 g Sugar <1 g Carbs18g in one whole package. I can usually make three snacks from one package. The best thing about these snacks is 60 calories and 0 from fat/ 100 calories and 15 from fat. I have lost 102 pounds since my surgery. Good luck to you!!!
