I don't think anyone's diet allows for burgers in any form 2 weeks post-op!
Most don't even allow red meat until after 6 months. Try a protein drink,
it will keep you fuller, longer. Other than that, I have no suggestions.
Is this head hunger or real hunger?

HI...I have to tell you that it is totally normal...the first month after
my surgery I was craving a whopper....mean while I have never eaten one in
my entire life! Eventually that went away however, I do recall when I was
able to start eating meat I did crave alot of red meat...prior to the
surgery I may have had beef once a month after I was having it almost
everyday...I had my surgery on 12/18/08 & lost 93lbs. It may just be
your bodies way of asking for iron???

I agree protein drink helps. I opened a can of hash and mushed it heated it
up and it helped fill me up just fine. I had a bannana and sliced it up and
that helped also. Eat small meals thru the day or drink drink. It really
helps alot for me.

Keep sipping your water! That should stop true hunger pains.

Well, if you aren't feeling growling in your pouch and since your nerves
that control that area of the stomach have been cut during surgery, they
haven't grown back yet. So, I am thinking either you are thirsty or having
head hunger. I would dip my spoon in the liquids of what I was cooking and
just took one sip of the liquids, and just the smell of food cooking in my
house helped. (I thought the opposite)that made it worse, not smelling
anything. you should be on thin liquids. When I did sip it took away that
head hunger. (don't get any chuncks, just the liquid in a spoon and sip
one time) but don't get into the habit of this. The head hunger will
eventually go away.

I wanted a cheeseburger at 2 weeks post-op. I am a vegetarian. So, i
thought that was strange. I thought that it might signal a need for more
protein. So, I had a little more protein and it went away. I wouldn't call
it hunger. It was more like a brief craving. It went away and now meat
disgusts me again.

I wanted one too. But I ate applesauce instead. That helped my hunger a lot
that second week.

It's been 16 months for me and I haven't had one yet. I don't think I could
handle the grease. I think it is to early for that? Maybe if you blend it
in the blender, that dose not sound very appealing. Try drinking protein
drinks and beef broth.
