Kind of weird how our body works, but I never had food intolerances until
my surgery. Now I can't do dairy or carbs loaded with gluten. So you may
get lucky and your allergies or intolerances will dissappear!!! :)

Thank you for answering Darlene. I have been surfing and surfing tryihng to
find answers and found out there is somethig called brown rice protein made
by sun warrior that is smooth and not gritty and high in protein. However I
went to whole foods and tried a couple of their protein drinks. OMG I need
a whole new mindset cause I never have liked anything thick to drink. Are
there any pills you can take to get the necessary protein in; instead of
those drinks. I'm scheduled to have my surgery on the 30th and I've got to
get that mindset ready because I want to do all I can to be successful.
When I had the vgb in 1994 I was given no information or follow up and had
no idea what I could and couldnt do so unfortunately after losing 60 pound
once I got a new job and felt I couldn't take the time to walk two miles a
day; it all came back and more. Now I weigh 348 have hypertension ... acid
reflus ... hiatel hernia ... herniated disc ... ulcerated stomach ... gall
bladder was removed ... border line high cholesterol ... my body does not
process carbs and sugars well so border line diabetic as well ... anemia
... osteoarthritis; had one knee replaced ... put off having the other done
and on and on and on. I am now at the highest weight ever though I have
tried everything to lose it; 348 and toxic and afraid if I don't have this
revision; I will die. I will be 62 soon but I believe the best years are
still ahead of me if I can just find a way to get through this period in
which I must have protein drinks for 5 weeks. So for all of you out there
who will; please pray or me or send me some of the strength you have
regained in having already gone through to the otherside of regaining your
health and liberty to just be! Thank you!

I did not have the bypass but since my surgery I cannot tolerate (vomit
immediately) wine, bananas and cantalope. If I get a little naseaous(sp)
after eating I find that consuming a tiny amount of sugar makes me feel
right again. Whatever, it is weird. Pat

Greetings Audrey: Can't figure out how my beginning note to you got
published! Let's start again. You wrote, "I believe the best years
are still ahead of me if I can just find a way to get through this period
in which I must have protein drinks for 5 weeks." IF you can find a
way to get through the next 5 weeks consuming protein drinks? IF? Get
used to the fact that protein drinks will be part of your life for the rest
of your life. Does that surprise you? Well, it did me as well. You
adjust. Your life is different. It is fantabulous! Here are some helpful
tools for you. (1) Go to my OH website and read my positive affirmations.
It is quite a lengthy list and one I say every day. Many folks have
pretty much copied what I've written (not sure about their living until
they are 150, but I plan to climb Mount Kilamanjaro when I am 150! And, to
do that, I must live right, eat right, sleep right, exercise right, drink
water right, each and every day and it all begins with thinking and talking
right (not negative). (2) Go to my OH website,
www.obesityhelp.com/group/BellevueWA and look at the discussion on protein.
I have presented this information a number of times to various folks
including my support group, to absolute rave reviews. Third, your brain
needs the right food to function. Next Sunday, 6-28-09 there will be a
teleconference on eating for a healthy brain. The link is quite long and
probably will get lost in the translation, so please send me an e-mail so I
can directly provide you this link. E-mail me at [email protected]. (4)
You are more than welcome to become a member of my support group: I have a
local (Greater Seattle area of Washington) and am forming an on-line OH
support group. You are welcome to contact me at any time. Blessings,
