Question:
Blood pressure medication
I wanted to know if anyone of you are on high blood pressure medication, and if so,which one? I am concerned because of our absorption factor. I was taking 5mg of Vasotec, and I don't think it's doing anything except making me retain fluid,so any info from you angels would be helpful. Thanks in advance! — sblady329 (posted on November 16, 2005)

I took medicine before my surgery for high blood pressure (I don't remember
the name of it). My surgery was in 2003 and last month the doctor gave me
Micardis HCT because my blood pressure was up again. I don't have any
problems with this medicine. (One of the ones I took before my surgery
made my hair thin just on the top and I had to take fluid pills with it and
another kind made me cough at night). My doctor is aware of the surgery
and he did not think I would have any trouble with the new medicine.

I was on Proparolol (sp?) but I had to be on the liquid since I just had my
lap band done on the 24th of Oct. but it got to where I gaged each time I
had to take it so I called my PCP and asked for one I could crush or was
small and he put me on Atenolol and it works well for me!

I 've been on blood pressure medication for a while. I take Lisinopril and
Atenol and that keeps my blood pressure down. I had surgery 5 days ago and
have had no problems swallowing the pills. I hope this will help you.
