Question:
Can you mix your protein drink with skim or 1% milk?

I do SF Carnation Instant Breakfast with milk, why not a protein drink? I am getting tired of the CIB and am looking for other ways to get my protein in, but hate to use water with it. It just tastes so horrible. Thanks for any advise.    — Kelly W. (posted on August 28, 2001)

I mixed the ready-made versions of both CarbSolutions and AdvantEdge with skim or 2% milk (one to thin it and one to thicken it). If you can tolerate milk it should be okay. Some people can't tolerate it after the surgery. Lactose intolerance seems to be a big problem.

Kelley, I don't know about the protein drink, but I've liked 1% for several years. Now it tastes too sweet. I tried Skim and hated it. Anyway I was wondering if you ever tried the Rich Skim? It is actually quite good! That may work well with whatever drink you mix it with.

Hi, maybe you need a change of pace. I have supplements available on my website just access it through my profile. I believe we have like 30 different flavors and types that are really good and inexpensive. Thanks Michelle Funk, RN

I use Carb Solutions from Wal Mart, $9 a can, the chocolate. I mix it with skim milk, a tsp of de-caff instant and sweetner. I blend it until it's frothy. It tastes like a mocha cappuchino. Yum!!! Have a Great Day
