Question:
When I drink water it causes a feeling of discomfort similar to hunger pains,
What causes this? I occassionally drink Crystal Lite and Decaf Orange Spice Instant Tea(sugar free) and they seem to give me less of that discomfort. Only warm drinks give me no problems. Does this diminish as time goes on, I had surgery July 12, 2001. — Roxanne H. (posted on August 27, 2001)

I definitely found that cold water, especially ice cold water irritated my
pouch early on. It was too bad because I only liked the taste when it was
super cold. I don't notice either problem as much any more. I can
tolerate different temperatures and the taste doesn't bother me as much.
Try doing warmer water for a while. The important thing is to get the
fluids, whatever that takes.

This happens to me. I have attributed it to the fact that liquids do a
great job of "cleaning out" any thing that was leftover in my
pouch thereby causing the hunger pains.
