I've used it. They let you customize the diet needs you have (higher protein, low carb, no sugar for me) when you are making your profile for the daily diet. That was helpful to me. You can also input the "recipes" or statistics for your protein drinks and bars so that you know they will be computed correctly. However, I'm surprised your surgeon didn't give you an eating plan to follow.

Oh I was religious about using Dietwatch the first 12 months post-op... Not only does it keep an accurate talley of everything you eat or drink..(you have to key it in..no cheating, record everything entering your mouth) you can also see where you might be going wrong if you're on a plateau..Overall I found www.dietwatch.com to be another tool in the arsenal against obesity..

I LOVE dietwatch.com and use it religiously and daily! It not only tracks your food intake and calories but also can track your exercise and your weight. I copy the weight loss chart and use it on my profile page. Dietwatch has a very comprehensive database and also allows you to define recipes as well as food not found in the database.

I use FitDay.com. It is free and tracks everything from exercise/activity to weight to nutrition to the food you eat. You can add custom foods to the database or choose from the list. I use it every couple of weeks to verify that I'm still at about 800 calories a day. It doesn't give you any recommendations for diet, but it will help you keep track for free.
