Question:
What type of over the counter sinus meds are safe to take?
I'm 5 1/2 weeks post and have been having sinus pain for quite a while. Usually 2 Tylenol Sinus does the trick. However they are gel capsules (and I think are time released). I bought some Afrin nasal spray but it doesn't really work. I don't want a prescription but would rather try something over the counter. Any suggestions? (At 1 week post op, I tried crushing the Tylenol Sinus and mixing it in liquid -- unbearable!) Thanks in advance for your help. — Kimberly L. (posted on August 3, 2001)

Kimberly--I am also 5 1/2 weeks post op!! I found that just plain Sudafed
works best for me...the little red pills that last for 4-6 hours (so they
aren't extended relief). I take it and some liquid tylenol and that will
usually knock out a sinus headache. GOOD LUCK!!
