Question:
Can someone send me a list of the liquids I can have after the surgery.
Please send me a list of the liquids I can have right after the WLS right after, especially any that you have found to really be great. — Carol F. (posted on April 15, 2001)

LOL! Oh..... you mean the ones that taste REALLY GREAT! Sorry, darlin',
that list is SHORT! :-) I don't mean to be negative, but I have found ONE
protein drink that I can stand to drink. It's Extreme Pure Pro from
Vitalady.com. The Grape flavor is excellent. Other than that, I was able
to have clear broth, jello, milk, and juice. Here's a cool tip! I did it
while I was still pre-op, and I'm SO glad I did now! Make your own broth.
Throw a whole chicken in a pot of water and boil the daylights out of it!
I'm talking 2 whole hours.... then strain the broth, and let it cool in the
frig to a gelatin state. Scrape all of the fat off and throw it away and
pop the broth in the microwave to remelt it. THEN pour it in some ice cube
trays and freeze. These cubes are lifesavers when you get home from the
hospital and they have NO added sodium like the canned broths. Tastes so
much yummier too! Good luck!

You can have any liquids. Crystal light has a lot of different flavors.
They even have a decaffienated (sic) tea. I like the pink grapefruit, it
has extra calcium. You can also have water, broth, sugar free jello, sugar
free popsicles. Just about anything that does not have any sugar, caffeine
or high calories. Water is VERY important.
