Question:
Plastic surgery
Hi. I was wondering if anyone has ever been approved for a tummy tuck with Medicaid or Medical Assistance? Thanks. — [Anonymous] (posted on July 1, 2000)

I had the panniculectomy which is essentialy a tummy tuck. And
I had medicaid. It has to be proven medically necessary, but
with a good surgeon they can prove that easily. My wls surgeon
did my pannic. His office consideres it a finishing part of
the original wls. Medically necessary can range from back
ache, rashes, infections. If you treat under the apron for
anything with any type of creams, ointments, powders and any
such thing, it can be deemed medically necessary. Also have
a picture taken of the excess skin. I hope the best for you
I hope they will approve for you as they did me.
