Question:
Medicare - Has anyone had Medicare pay for a tummy tuck
and also I was told from someone that had the tummy tuck, that after surgery you have LOTS of pain. True? — kathy S. (posted on May 24, 2000)

I have not had a tummy tuck yet, not even surgery. I did ask the dr. and he
said no problem it is medically necessary
due to problems with aprons after surgery. Good luck! I found out it may
even pay for boob job.

The tt is no more painful then the original wls. I had the
tt in Dec 98 and I expected it to be worse but I found it
was better. I had medicaid and it paid for the tt because it
was considered medically necessary. Most insurances will if
medically necessary and not cosmetic. Medically necessary
could range from rashes, yeast infection under the apron, to
back ache, and just about anything inbetween. Good luck to you.
