Question:
I am having trouble finding a chewable calcium cutrate that I can stomach
Seems the taste of these products just make me shiver, therefor I REALLY struggle taking it daily. I know this is so important to my future health, hoping someone is aware of a product that can help. — flattop128 (posted on August 23, 2005)

Have you tried bariatric advantage calcium citrate? They have cinnamon,
chocolate and mint that taste good. You might look online through
google.com for other choices. Good luck.

Just a thought.......why do you have to have chewable? I take a tablet
which is pretty big but I have no problems with it. Also,
bariatriceating.com has a liquid calcium citrate that is not too bad at
all. I keep it in the fridge and have a slug of it just before bedtime.

Hi, Kal, makes a great tasting Calcium Citrate Chewable. I have been
taking them for some time and really like them. Also, I have tried the
Twin Lab calcium chewable wafers which I love but can't seem to find
lately. I wish Citrical would come out with a chewable citrate..

I take Tropical Oasis liquid calcium magnesium. Goes down much easier than
the chewables I tried, and tastes like orange yogurt. It's pretty easily
available at health food stores and I think you can get it at
bariatriceating.com, too.

I tried the Optisource chewable vitamins for bariatric patients. The
flavor is great and has ALL of the vitamins you need..including calcium and
B12. You can find these at Walgreens.com or in their stores. You take one
4 times a day with meals. I have had no problems stomaching them. They
have a light orange flavor....very good! Good luck!

How far out are you? You may be able to graduate to a pill form. The
vitalady has a citrate capsule that isn't too big.

I crush mine and dissolve it on a spoon with my crystal light. It changes
the taste and does well for me

I had Dr. Richardson also...he is the best! In the beginning I didn't take
any supplements but I started out with powdered calcium from Vitalady.
Since then I've switched to Calcimate from GNC. I've talked to Dr.
Richardson about it and my levels are normal so it must be a good thing.
You do have to take 4 large caplets a day though but that's not hard to get
used to with all the other stuff I take.

I get all my vitamins from Bariatric Advantage. The calcium comes in
losenge form and are made specifically for gastric bypass patients. I take
the calcium, multi, b-12, and iron, and they are all yummy! The best thing
is that they are on-line and once you place an order, they will continue to
send you your orders monthly. I am so glad my doctor (Dr. Krahn in
Riverside, CA) told me about them!

If the chewable is a problem, you might try the Super Cal-Pro from
"www.Vitamist.com". It comes in orang & Lemon. I used it
for a long time until I could take Pills and it includes the Vit.D that you
need to tke with Calcium.Hope this works for you.
